Who we are: MedCity News, a Breaking Media publication. We cover the business of innovation in healthcare from medical device, biotech and digital health startups to how hospitals, payers, big pharma, medical device companies and health IT vendors are integrating new technology. We write with an eye to how organizations are using technology to fulfill the needs of the healthcare reform. We also write about investment trends and regulatory concerns. Do you wonder how medical device companies will integrate wearables? How big pharma will use digital health to improve medication adherence and add value to (take out its) drugs? What the latest advancements in clinical trial design are? So do we.
Requirements: What you'll do: We are looking for a life science reporter who can look beyond headlines and press releases and see the story everyone else is ignoring. You'll see the bigger picture and write with attitude. Your copy should be conversational, yet informative. Write 12+ stories per week.
Who we are looking for: Ideally, you are a business reporter with 3-5 years of experience and can bring passion and ingenuity to your posts. You don't have to have a background covering healthcare but you should be familiar with the issues. Our core audience is the C-suite for payers, providers, investors, pharma and medical device companies. Be flexible, own your beat. Be proactive and a self starter. We don't have time to train people so if you are looking for someone to spoon feed you stories look elsewhere. This is not a junior reporter role. We like quality not quantity.
